Dear NWCVPR Member,

Thank you for your continued support of NWCVPR. We appreciate your dedication and commitment to both your career and our collective cause to endorse, promote and advocate rehabilitation and prevention for chronic cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The NWCVPR Board of Directors and its members continue to be at the forefront of disease prevention and grassroots efforts leading to reimbursement, outcomes and benchmarking for all programs associated with the state and national organizations.

We would like to share information on a major change in our organization as well as a new opportunity for you. The NWCVPR Board recently approved the process for the state organization to become a Joint Affiliate Member of AACVPR. Effective immediately several changes will be implemented that may affect you. Please review them carefully:

  • All NWCVPR members who are not currently members of AACVPR will have the opportunity to take advantage of an initial 15-month discounted Joint membership for $215. This membership will be available April 1, 2016. Your membership will begin once you join AACVPR at the aforementioned rate, and expire June 30, 2017.
  • If you are currently an AACVPR member, you will be provided with a renewal invoice at the Joint Affiliate rate when you renew your AACVPR dues next June. Paying the special rate during next year’s renewal window will allow you to receive all AACVPR Education Advantage benefits and all NWCVPR benefits until June 30, 2017. You will no longer need to pay a separate NWCVPR membership fee and if you are an Education Advantage member, your dues will be reduced but still include all of the same benefits.
  • Any NWCVPR Member who chooses not to join the Joint Affiliation at this time will no longer be considered a member of NWCVPR, but will be able to re-join at any time in the future for the standard Joint Affiliate rate posted by AACVPR.
  • You will no longer send any membership dues to NWCVPR – all dues collection will be conducted by AACVPR.

Please note: AACVPR will be sending additional communication on how to join as April 1 approaches.

Joint Affiliation membership automatically includes the EducationAdvantage Membership – which provides all the benefits that come with the AACVPR Professional Membership plus up to 10 complimentary AACVPR or nursing continuing education credits (CEC) through AACVPR webcasts, a $650 value. This membership also provides discounted access to the AACVPR Annual Conference, access to the members-only sections on the AACVPR website, direct access to the latest reimbursement updates, online and live CEC opportunities, extensive national networking and membership in one of the most progressive and recognizable organizations in this field.

It is important to note that the NWCVPR will still operate as an independent organization, and our dedication to programs within the state of Alaska, Idaho, and Washington remains its primary focus. The Joint Affiliate Membership simply allows NWCVPR members to access extensive benefits offered by the national organization. Likewise, AACVPR members living within Alaska, Idaho, and Washington will become members of NWCVPR, greatly increasing the organization’s ‘strength in numbers.’

If you have any questions about this change, please contact Karen Edwards, NWCVPR President at or Andrew Miller at at the AACVPR Executive Office.

Thank you! We look forward to your continued support of NWCVPR and AACVPR, and hope the benefits of taking part in this collaborative effort will be worthwhile to your professional development and education.
